IMC Report Published Today
Following calls at the weekend to publish the latest IMC report (now nearly a month on) on paramilitary activity in Northern Ireland, the government has made the report's findings public today. Among the conclusions are findings that the IRA are still recruiting young people and training them in the use of fire arms. They weren't exactly welcoming of the position of loyalists either though.
Teenage Slags "The School's Fault" - Mum
Despite today's strike, the BBC still manage to report that 3 sisters in Derby are all proud mothers - at the ages of 12, 14 and 16! Jemma, the youngest of the 3, was the first to give birth in February last year. Weeks later, the other 2 found out they were pregnant (what is it with millies that they can't see green cheese but they want it?).
Mum, Julie, a granny at 38, blamed schools (it couldn't possibly be your fault could it?) saying "sex education for young girls should be better." I had it pointed out to me that in truth, the sex education could have been fine, but the sisters were likely too busy getting f**ked to bother with an unnecessary waste of time like school.
IMC Report Remains Unpublished
Tony Blair still hasn't published the IMC report on paramilitary activity which was presented to the government (and the Irish government) on 29th April, but publication was set aside until after the election. Now here we are 2 weeks after said election and Alliance leader David Ford is calling on the governments to publish the report.
DUP's Wilson backs Robinson on Schools
Last week EU carried a story called "Grammar Schools Good for Social Mobility", in which we reported on East Antrim MLA Ken Robinson (UUP) highlighting LSE findings that Grammar Schools benefit working class pupils. Yesterday's Newsletter speaks of Sammy Wilson, DUP MP for East Antrim welcoming the same LSE report.
Deadly Assault Is Great Crack!!
That seems to be the attitude among some teenagers if this story from BBC news online is anything to go by. A 16 year old girl from Manchester was savagely attacked from behind yesterday as a crowd of boys watched the assault and filmed it on a mobile phone. What's worse is this was no ordinary school fight, aside form the cowards jumping her from behind in this pre-arranged assault, Becky Smith, the victim, was left unconscious and paralysed (albeit temporarily).
In a callous display of their disregard for this poor girls near fatal assault, these lowlife bastards then proceeded to circulate the video round their school where it was seen by the victim's 13 year old brother.
UK Must Pay More To EU
No, not Everything Ulster, the other EU, the European Union. The French, German and Polish leaders today called for an end to the UK's rebate, negotiated by Margaret Thatcher in 1984 because Britain was paying an unfairly high contribution to the then EEC. Now the cheese-eating surrender-monkeys, the towel-throwing deck-chair theves and ... well, Poland want us to go back to paying over the odds.
Terrorist Apologists Oppose ID Card Shocker
Caitriona Ruane (I think that's Katrina to you and me), Sinn Fein's South Down MLA and spokesman on Equality and Human Rights has come out against the government's plans to introduce ID cards. No big surprise here, I mean the idea of the ID cards is to reduce identity fraud and combat terrorism. Turkeys and Christmas really, this is Sinn Fein we're talking about. (On a completely unrelated note, Ms Ruane is the same woman who was campaigning for the release and return to Ireland of the three Irishmen charged with training FARC terrorists in Columbia.)
Amarillo Spoof Crashes MoD Computers!
This is probably old news to most of you by now, being reported on the BBC last night, but yesterday MoD computers were brought down by the mass circulation of a 52MB video clip of soldiers in Iraq performing a spoof of Tony Christie's "Amarillo" around the barracks, entitled "Is this the way to Armadillo?"
Tony Christie appeared on the BBC news article last night saying he thought the video was "fantastic" and reportedly rang the star, Staff Sgt Roger Parr, to congratulate him on his newfound fame.
The reason I've taken so long to post is that I've downloaded the full 52MB clip from the eD2k (edonkey) network and copied the URI. For those of you with access to the eDonkey network, you can download the file by following this link.
I would have posted the story this morning but the DNS servers in my work still haven't updated and so the new site isn't reachable yet.
C'est la vie.

Grammar Schools Good for Social Mobility
Something I have long argued, ie that Grammar schools are good for pupils from less economically well-off familes, has been confirmed in research published today by the London School of Economics.
