Loyalists To Target PSNI At Home
I was reading an article in today's Observer (doesn't appear to be online) in which Henry McDonald writes that loyalists are contemplating attacks on off-duty PSNI officers in their homes. One senior paramilitary (I believe) was quoted as saying "I would burn them while they were in their beds." The paper also carried a photo of graffiti on a wall proclaiming "Join the PSNI and come home to a real fire."
We really are now reaching the depths of depravity. Aside from the fact the attacks will also harm and potentially kill the officers' wives and children, these officers risk their lives trying to keep this country going and don't deserve to be attacked, least of all in their homes.
If people have serious grievances with the police, then take it up via the proper channels. Protest (peacefully) at Policing Board meetings and at PSNI HQ. Protest (still peacefully!!) at Stormont and/or Hillsborough. Don't stoop to the levels of the IRA, at the worst depths of their illegal attacks on our country.
Do these people not understand the damage they're doing to the country they're supposed to be 'protecting', 'defending' or 'loyal' to.
Loyalists Destroying 12th July?
I was reading a news article on the BBC website regarding foreign investors avoiding Belfast, costing Northern Ireland jobs, because of the riots when a thought struck me. The rioters may not be overly concerned about a few hundred (or even thousands of) potential jobs disappearing south to Dublin because Belfast isn't safe enough, but are loyalists actually destroying their own culture?
These 'protests' that have been going on are driving everyone up the wall, we know, but the violence that comes with them could actually be damaging the Twelfth as well!
Taking Advantage of Loyalist Violence?
I'm preplexed by this one. According to friends and relatives of Robert McCartney's family, republicans have picked now as the time to intensify a campaign of intimidation against the murdered man's associates. The BBC reports that McCartney's friend, Jeff Commander, had his head split open when a mob of republicans attacked him in the Short Strand. The report includes quite a graphic picture of Mr Commander's head following the attack.
Sinn Fein have denied any IRA involvement, but then again we all know how much Sinn Fein/IRA denials are worth!!
UDA Call For Truce
The Ulster Defence Association has called for an end to the violence plaguing Northern Ireland in a statement which came out of north Belfast today. The loyalist terrorist group called on loyalists to remain calm "no matter what the provocation".
"No longer can we or will we let these types of situations destroy our own communities as it seems the community is the only sufferer in this conflict."
UDA statement
Defining Loyalism
Given the assault on our nation currently being carried out by packs of inbred morons across Belfast, I'm more disgusted than ever with the scum who call themselves loyalists. All but a few of these 'loyalists' support violence and/or the paramilitaries. Based on posts at LoveUlster.com (currently unavailable after exceeding it's bandwidth), being a loyalist simply means being a Protestant supremacist; a sectarian bigot, filled with hatred, and usually having very limited education and intellect.
Since this group have shown ill-regard for the laws of the United Kingdom, as assented to by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, I feel that it is inappropriate to refer to them as loyalists. They are clearly loyal to nothing and act solely on their own twisted self-pity and a false sense of victimhood.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an accepted term that is more apt yet still descriptive of this grouping. I think we need one. Any ideas... ?
For God And Ulster

Normally busy roads in Belfast were deserted during this afternoon's rush hour.
As I write, the Broadway end of the Boucher Road is already closed off (by about half a dozen angry looking women and their kids). On coming home from work today I found normally busy roads to be eerily quiet as rush-hour traffic was diverted away by the police.
But just what do these people get up to at night? Well I did a little reading around the BBC website and was disgusted by what I found. As I suspected, women, children and pensioners all suffered at the hands of these loyal sons of Ulster.
More Dirt On Belfast's Streets
The wreckage of last night's disgusting orgy of violence was still evident on the streets of Belfast and the surrounding area today, but I hadn't heard anything on the BBC news site as I left my parents' house this evening to head back to Belfast. I did deliberately avoid residential roads and take the long way home via the M2 from Glengormley and I'm glad I did. Cloughfern saw the dregs of society back on the streets again tonight and there were a few milling about at Monkstown too apparently, although with nothing happening as of about 10:00 pm.
On coming in the motorway, signs proclaimed the Westlink closed and I had to divert through the city centre. Police at the top of Tate's Avenue were warning people about a road block down in the village, which is presumably what the BBC meant when they said "Gangs have also set fire to a hijacked car and a van in south Belfast."
Oh and as for unionist politicains, I'm disgusted at the lot of you. Were are the condemnations for these bedsores on Ulster's arse? They are scum, their actions are inexcusable and their claims of brutality laughable. It's about time you told them that instead of excusing their rampage by bitching about the authorities. This goes especially for Ian "blame the Parades Commission for the mess" Paisley, but Sir Reg "shocked by police tactics" Empey, isn't much better.
Wastes Of Space Waste My Weekend

Police and army landrovers were deployed throughout Belfast.
Scumbags. Fucking wastes of skin. I can't think of the words to describe my absolute and utter contempt for the wretched excuses for men and women rioting on the streets of Belfast tonight. While normal people, you know, the ones with lives, were out chatting to friends in a pub, or settling down to watch a film with a loved one, those with nothing to break up the mundane pointlessness of their lives decided to fuck up everyone else's weekend for them.
Some parade wasn't allowed to march down some street. Argue about the right or wrongness of such a decision all you want but leave me the hell out of it. I don't give a flying one either way. In fact, now I hope they never get to march down that road again.
British Champions Deserve Better
Wasn't the excitement of Wednesday night great? Wasn't the atmosphere fantastic? Did you hear the fans in the stadium, or even on their way to the stadium? I'd have given my right arm to be there. OK, my left arm anyway.
The point is that the stadium could have been easily sold out 3 times over. There was speculation in yesterday's Belfast Telegraph that the win against England could boost plans for the proposed Terror Dome at the Maze, near Lisburn. "The phenomenal interest in last night's match has underlined to some football officials and politicians how more modern sporting facilities are needed here."
That's very true, but that's still no reason to build an out-of-town stadium, we need a Stadium in Belfast. Or do we want a similar experience to Juventus and others...?
Flags Removed From Lisburn Road

Flags have been taken down from the Lisburn Road. Nice day, isn't it?
I just noticed today that the Union Flags and Ulster Banners (or 'Red Hand Flags' if you must) that decorated the Lisburn Road over the summer have been taken down. When they went up I said I supported the flying of these flags as long as they came down by the end of the summer, and explained why I thought they should.
